  • 11.24.07 Project Status Report: November 2007 posted in Geekery

I have way too many irons in the fire right now. I thought I’d offer a quick status report on various projects so that those of you who are waiting for particular updates have an idea what’s happening…

  • 9.21.07 Mending (Jott) Fences posted in Geekery

I’m extremely pleased to report that after publicly expressing my frustration with my communication with Jott.com, they almost immediately responded in surprise. Apparently there was a breakdown somewhere along the line, but information is flowing very smoothly now. I can now begin a full rewrite of Jott2iGTD as a standalone, far less buggy program. No more scraping HTML emails! No more RubyCocoa! It’s going to be sweet (I’m desperately hoping). In the meantime, I’m hearing mixed reports about the 2.4 version I uploaded this morning. I’m going to attempt to fix some remaining bugs and try again, but I’m totally swamped right now. But I will always do my best to serve my readers, at least until I keel over from exhaustion ;).

  • 9.21.07 Jott2iGTD2.4 Ready… I think posted in Geekery

jott2igtd2 iconJott2iGTD 2.4 is ready for download, which should be especially good news for anyone who’s using an older version and didn’t make it into the beta testing round. It seems to be working for everybody and is revamped to work with the new Jott email format. Jott has become a source of frustration for me, though…

  • 9.18.07 MoodBlast Recapitulation posted in Geekery

MoodBlast has gone classical with the release of 2.24. It now handles classical music, parsing for movement, composer and performer and creating an appropriate string. Classical fans, enjoy. In other news, Jott2iGTD is pretty much fixed, just waiting for a couple of stray bug reports to come back as confirmed fixes. Fun stuff.

  • 9.10.07 Jott2iGTD Testers Needed posted in Geekery

There are so many variables involved with making Jott2iGTD function for everyone that I need a little help with testing. Here’s a full packaged version that anyone can download to try out, but I’ll remove the link and move it to the download page once we get all the bugs worked out. If you’re currently experiencing problems with Jott2iGTD, you have nothing to list by trying this…

  • 9.10.07 Jott2iGTD Woes posted in Geekery

jottsnewformat.jpgLooks like my work on Jott2iGTD has been revived. Jott just completely revamped the format of the emails they send, rendering the current parser useless. I’ll be rewriting it as quickly as possible and getting a new version out as soon as I can.

  • 8.6.07 Jott2iGTD2.3 and “nkf” fix posted in Geekery

Some minor improvements and a major bugfix. I don’t know why I have so much trouble replicating it, but more and more people are coming to me with the “nkf” bug. If you’ve seen this bug in your console, this release should fix it. Latest version, as always, on the Jott2iGTD page.

  • 8.3.07 Four Days, One Measly Update posted in Circle Six Happenings, General

Somehow, four days have crept by in blog time. Which is approximately four days in Earth time, as well. Circle Six has been overflowing with projects and we’re really excited to be completely swamped. We’re recovering from a recent three-day photo shoot for St. Croix, and all of the post-processing that goes with it has our photographer, Peter, pretty busy. He posted one of the more interesting shots on his blog

  • 7.30.07 Brainstorm posted in Geekery

Mindmeister has exposed an API. Hmmmm… Jott2Mindmeister? I’m working on porting the flickr ruby wrapper right now, should lead to some interesting possibilities. My first project is actually just a little script that will push a line from TextMate to a mind map for later brainstorming. It’s almost identical to the Flickr API, so the transition shouldn’t be too difficult…
