Moving Wordpress 2
posted in
Web Design, Geekery
Here’s round 2 of my Wordpress Move script from yesterday. It now figures out if your home address is different from your base url and if so, it strips the path off of the home address and appends it to the new base url to create a new home address. This makes the assumption that both your url and home are on the same domain. I’d be interested to know if anyone finds other uses for this or if there are any feature requests. If not, it’s serving my purposes and probably won’t go any further, but you never know.

30Cal Upgrade
posted in
Geekery
Yep, a major upgrade already. And I still got some work done today. My server got hacked, so that took up part of the day, but anyway… The new version (1.5) is now an application and has improved support for recurring events and skipped dates in recurring events. The API Key and User Token are now requested by the script and stored externally so you can upgrade without copying and pasting. And thanks to that innovation, the file is now an app so that it’s easier to run. Check the download page for the latest version.

30cal: 30 Boxes and iCal
posted in
Geekery
And here we go again, off on another Applescript adventure. This one is a doozy, I think. It’s going straight to it’s own download page because there WILL be updates. What it does is let you send any event or entire calendar from iCal to your 30 Boxes calendar with support for notes, urls, locations, repeating events, tags, start time/date, end time/date, and more. You can use it to make the switch from iCal to 30 Boxes, or just send important events to a shared calendar. You can even use it to edit your events locally with the comfort of iCal and then send them to 30 Boxes without opening a web browser. Your choice! Download here.

FlickrMate 1.7
posted in
Geekery
An update to TextMate brings UI changes to the FlickrMate bundle. I’ve also added a fix for a bug discovered by Mike McClenaghan that prevents uploading photos with spaces in their names. If you have the latest version of TextMate (if you use SVN be sure to update your Support folder), then head for the download page for the latest version.

MAMP Universal Binary
posted in
Web Design, Geekery
MAMP 1.6 is out as a universal binary (Mac Apache MySql PHP). Version 1.4.1 is available as both Intel and Power PC only downloads from the same page. I still haven’t tried MAMP Pro, but the combination of MAMP, Headdress and a good Subversion workflow have kept me plenty happy.

FlickrMate 1.6: Image Uploading
posted in
Geekery
Okay, last FlickrMate release until I’ve written about something else. I’m going to do a short series on TextMate’s tm_dialog and creating custom nibs. All the information you need is out there, it’s just really scattered and half of it is in mailing list archives. I’m going to pull it together into one reference that should make things a little easier, especially for people who aren’t used to Interface Builder (like me). Anyway, FlickrMate 1.6…Read the rest of FlickrMate 1.6: Image Uploading...

FlickrMate Update 1.3
posted in
Geekery
Yet another version of FlickrMate is being posted this evening. We’re up to 1.3. I’m having a little trouble getting things working on everybody else’s systems. Different versions of Ruby, different types of Flickr accounts, lots of variables. I’ve stripped a couple of the more complex facets of the bundle and got it back to basics. Back to it’s extremely useful basics, that is ;). The image in this post was placed by the bundle, so it works for me… visit the Download Page.Read the rest of FlickrMate Update 1.3...
