On Mindmeister, XMIND and Mind Mapping
posted in
Design, Geekery
It’s my personal opinion that mind mapping doesn’t get enough attention. Of course, I spend a lot of time in the “real world” blabbing on about mind mapping. Evangelizing, even. So I’m going to expound (again) on thoughts and tools for few bytes…

MoodBlast 2.49.6 (and a little blogging)
posted in
Geekery
Alright, 2.49.6 is out without a lot of fanfare. New interface, new search and replace algorithms, etc. I’ve promised myself that I will blog about something besides MoodBlast before I completely lose the ability to do so…Read the rest of MoodBlast 2.49.6 (and a little blogging)...

Group Productivity On The Web
posted in
General
I’ve been working to narrow down the array of possibilities for productivity apps at Circle Six Design. I’ve been looking for solutions that are accessible by both employees and clients, inexpensive and easy to use. Out of the array of possibilities, here’s my current list…

Well Mannered Pets
posted in
Web Design
I’ve been working on so many sites that when I decided to take a weekend off I couldn’t stop. I ended up starting a redesign on the website for my other business, The Urbane Animal. It’s up now, even though it still needs some tweaking. But I’m pretty happy with it. It’s not very often I get to do a low-traffic site with complete design control ;-).

Small Business Tools
posted in
Design
I’ve been working on filling a few holes in our day-to-day operations, and trying to find the most elegant solutions. I wanted to share a couple of them here in the hopes that they would help out people in similar situations. The business we run is a very small design and marketing agency, but the tools I’ve found apply to any small business that bills for services and needs to manage sales contacts. I’m looking for comments and suggestions!

A stroke of brilliance, maybe
posted in
Web Design
I just had what might be my greatest idea in a while. This comes at 7:15AM on a Saturday, after being up since 2am, and after 4 shots of espresso and 2 nicotine lozenges. I’m still recovering from all the bad luck of the last couple of weeks (brown recluse bite, dead […]

The revolution is a bubble.
posted in
General
The prevailing wisdom right now clearly states that Web 2.0 is a bubble. A “frothy“, “fuzzy” bubble. And all this time I thought it was a revolution… So where does revolution meet the idea of a bubble? As I see it, Web 2.0 probably has an inflated sense of itself. The […]

Viral Marketing on a local scale.
posted in
marketing
My media sales reps will disagree with me on this one, but the fact of the matter seems to be that the face of marketing is changing. Or rather, it’s in a change-or-die situation. The noise level has increased to a breaking point and technology has made people saavy to a point […]

Website Updates
Version 3 of the website is online now. We went for a classier, more business-like look. Version 2 and 1 are still accessible through the homepage of the website, since we have so much of our blood, sweat and tears in the last two versions. Feel free to drop us a […]
