  • 7.29.07 Group Productivity On The Web posted in General

I’ve been working to narrow down the array of possibilities for productivity apps at Circle Six Design. I’ve been looking for solutions that are accessible by both employees and clients, inexpensive and easy to use. Out of the array of possibilities, here’s my current list…

  • 2.22.07 Where do you to-do? posted in Geekery

A new contender for my extensive to-do list management needs: Todoist. It’s interface requires me to change my methods a little from what I’ve been doing with Backpack, and it doesn’t appear to have an API, but it’s fluid and has major benefits. It provides the ability to attach a date and a priority to each item and you can query by date and automatically sort a to-do list into a day, week or other view. Editing and sorting are fluid and Ajaxified, and there’s a plethora of shortcut keys for people who are keyboard oriented (I most certainly am).

  • 1.14.07 Circle Six on OS X Productivity posted in Geekery

I thought that over my next few articles I would expound on a few of my favorite applications. I’ll highlight a few classics and a few apps that I think have a really bright future. This first post is going to be about productivity. I always seem to start with a […]

  • 12.12.06 Next Up for the Backpack Bundle posted in Geekery

I’m working on a few additions to the Backpack bundle to improve its usefulness to the GTD community. At this point I’ve got it set up to be able to take any list or entire page and output it as a GTDAlt file as shown in the screenshot. It adds today’s date […]

  • 11.26.06 Binary Bliss posted in General

It’s been a computer day. I figured I’d tie up some loose ends on my last day of vacation, so I started early this morning and took care of a whole bunch of computer related chores around the house. I turned a dead Dell into the new media center, an old eMachine into a PC […]

  • 11.25.06 Backpack Bundle adds List Support posted in Geekery

Here’s a new version of the Backpack bundle for TextMate with rudimentary list support. There are a couple of experimental commands just to show what it could do, one takes a single list and prints it as a project in GTD format, assuming the list items are in the format “@context action”. The list title […]

  • 11.25.06 Undocumented Backpack API Section posted in Geekery

All this time I’ve been complaining about the poor list support in the Backpack API and it’s just been undocumented. I’ve got the API calls and ruby wrapper for listing the lists on a page and modifying them individually now. This opens up the possibility for full project management on a page. […]

  • 11.23.06 Happy Tofurkey Day! posted in Geekery, Random Thoughts, General

I’m a vegetarian. One of the fake ones that eats fish. I believe it’s called Pescatarian, but I’m often wrong. Anyway, I’m not a fan of Tofurkey. I’m also not a fan of big meals, nor a fan of traveling, nor familial stress… I’ve never enjoyed Thanksgiving all that much. […]

  • 11.22.06 Backpack Bundle Updated posted in Geekery

This bundle has been updated to include list support, more information and download link here. This is the second pre-release of the Backpack Bundle for TextMate, and designed to work with 37signals’ backpackit.com. It won’t be an official release until I decide how I’m going to handle Items. As I mentioned before, the […]
