I have way too many irons in the fire right now. I thought I’d offer a quick status report on various projects so that those of you who are waiting for particular updates have an idea what’s happening…

UTW-rpc 1.5 released
posted in
Geekery
‘Bout freakin’ time. Adds Simple Tagging support, new xmlrpc methods, slug support and more. There’s a fix for TextMate users who broke with WP 2.2.1. When they get the date deal sorted out, I’ll update the plugin. Latest version on the Autotag/UTW-rpc page. There’s a new version of Autotag in testing right now, so TextMate users, patience, please…

Upgraded

Website Updates
Well, I’ve been designing all of my new Wordpress sites with version 2.2, but just now finally got around to upgrading the blog. It seemed like a fairly painless experience with just a couple of plugin related glitches. I did it through Subversion so I’ll revert if anything goes terribly wrong. If you notice anything amiss on the blog, please let me know! In the meantime I’ve picked up work again on the Wordpress Theme Bundle for TextMate and will be releasing an updated version with a whole bunch of new, more advanced tags and options. I’m also almost through the testing phase for UTW-rpc and have a new AutoTag bundle to go with it. Still open to Beta Testers on that one, if you want in, let me know.

UTW-RPC Beta Testers Wanted
posted in
Geekery
Are you using the Simple Tagging plugin, running Wordpress 2.2, or maybe both? Want to help beta-test the new UTW-RPC plugin (the one that incorporates the Robin-Lu Hack to allow tagging to work in TextMate, ecto, et al)? It handles both Ultimate Tag Warrior and Simple Tagging plugins with seamless switching and no user configuration. The plugin has been updated to incorporate all of the changes in the xmlrpc.php file in Wordpress 2.2 but is still backwards compatible with 2.1.3. The Autotag bundle has also been updated for TextMate bloggers who use any of the above combinations. If you’re interested in an advance copy of the plugin, bundle or both, let me know, I’d like to get the kinks worked out before release.

UTW-RPC Worpdress Plugin 1.3 released
posted in
Geekery
Thanks to a comment from surtin, a bug in UTW-RPC’s interaction with ecto has hopefully been fixed. The new release is available on the download page. I’m posting this from ecto with keywords, so if you see tags on this, it means it’s working alright.

GTD Flip-Flop and other news
posted in
Geekery
I’m back to & ToDo / Task Management Application for Mac & Windows">Easy Task Manager. Actiontastic is cool, but too lightweight for my current needs. Most of what I want it to do is either promised for the future or not in development at all, which eventually made me question why I was trying to make it work. I’ll settle for poor aesthetics and pretty good functionality (and a very nice pricetag) on Easy Task.

Autotag 3.1 Maintenance Release
posted in
Geekery
This is a maintenance release of the Autotag bundle. I updated it to work with my most recent cutting edge update of TextMate, changing the location of the plist library and the way that the dialog plugin is located. If your current version is working fine, I suggest you leave it alone. This update adds no new functionality. If you’ve updated TextMate and borked the Autotag bundle, this should fix it. Download: autotag3.1.zip.

Autotag Temp Fix
posted in
Geekery
If you’ve updated your SVN installation of the TextMate Support libraries recently, the Autotag bundle probably broke. According to the explanation here there is a fix on the way. For that reason I’m not rushing to release a fixed version of the bundle, at least not until I’m sure the change is permanent. For now, if you need to regain use of any of the commands, use this tip…

AutoTag 3 Mulligan
posted in
Geekery
Oops. I left some unnecessary code in the AutoTag 3 release. It will function fine, but the Yahoo Suggest will take longer than it needs to. I’ve replaced the download with a different version, same filename. Why? It’s a mulligan.

AutoTag 3 Released
posted in
Geekery
The AutoTag Bundle for TextMate is now up to version 3. I’ve fixed the sorting to be case insensitive for all commands, and added Yahoo suggestions. If you have any suggestions for improving the suggestions, I suggest you submit them. Download version 3 below or see the downloads page. The AutoTag Bundle requires the UTW-RPC plugin (see downloads page) for Wordpress (and Wordpress and the Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin.)
