C6 Old Post Alert
C6 Old Post Alert is a plugin for Wordpress 2.1 that will check the date of a displayed post and determine its age. If it’s older than a month, a small notice is posted that the content may be out of date. It’s followed, if possible, by a list of newer posts that match the subject of the current post. The idea being that if you post about a topic regularly, or post updates to a topic, people coming in from Google rarely find your most recent work. This should help get them there.
Changelog:
- 4.1.07: Modified original version to use Related Posts as a fallback to UTW for related post suggestions.
- 4.1.07: Made some changes to the code to clean up when and where the content block appears.
- 4.1.07: Added more styling classes to the output.
Installation
Unzip the file and upload c6oldposts.php to your plugins directory and activate it from your plugins admin page.
The plugin’s output is fully styleable using CSS. Just check the ID’s and classes on the various elements and have at it. I’m not going to include default styles, as I can’t presume to know what your blog looks like. It will provide the information nicely even with no styling.
