I’m getting an error when trying to save my pownce username and password. See it here:

MoodBlast now hearts Pownce

That’s right, we finally got Pownce support. I’ve also fixed the “Start Hidden” feature. The most significant change is actually a complete rewrite of the preference storage code. The new version will make every attempt to convert your previous preferences, but you may end up re-entering them if it fails. I apologize for any inconvenience, but it should completely eradicate the Applescript/file access problems of yesteryear. Have at it.

I can’t replicate that. Do you have any other information to work from? What is the sequence of events preceding the error, and can I see a shot of your whole password preferences page? You can contact me directly at brett at circlesixdesign dot com if necessary.

I just learned about your app and I’m already addicted. Thanks!
BTW, this would be a killer app on the iPhone…

I’m working on this one. If I can’t figure it out today, I’ll go back and add the Pownce support to the previous version and work from there.

running 10.5.2 here, on an iBook g4, 3.0.7 simply won’t open, or rather the interface is invisible?

s2art, do you get anything in the menubar? If you trash your prefs and run a new install, it should show up in the menu bar (no dock icon) and the interface should be visible. If that’s not happening, it may be getting stuck on launch, which I’m also taking a look at right now.

I would love to see support for (mainly Dutch) community Hyves. They have an API, I would be more than happy to mediate though I have very limited programming skills. Perhaps I could rewrite an existing API?

Afraid I’m seeing the same issue.
I’ve tried deleting the preferences (presume it’s just in Library/Preferences? - com.circlesix…..)
Anyway, I can’t delete the whole app to trash, or overwrite with a previous version as OS X is adamant that the application is ‘open.’ It’s not showing up in the force-quit dialog either so not sure how to go about fixing it now. Basically, Moodblast has been killed on my laptop :(
Awesome app though, keep it up and look forward to the fixed version. -

Yeah, I haven’t found the common thread among the people reporting the bug, but it’s pretty widespread. I should have it fixed soon.
In the meantime, you can kill it by opening Terminal and typing
killall MoodBlast. -

Don’t doubt it - you’ve done an awesome job with the coding so far.
Best of luck in the search…. -

Okay, there’s a beta for testing… should fix most issues, let me know if it doesn’t. Thanks!

Hi Brett,
I’ve just downloaded the new 3.1 beta, but when I either run it or install it, About still says it’s v3.0.6. Have I downloaded the correct version ?
It certainly starts up OK. Thanks.

Looks like I got an earlier branch mixed up. I think I’ve replaced the file with the correct version now, so download again (same link) and give it a try. Sorry for the confusion, and sorry in advance if I screwed it up again.

Cool, it’s is 3.1b1 now. Will start testing now.

Hi Brett, Things are looking good. App starts OK, and all prefs have been reentered.
Not sure if I saw a problem with Jaiku channels though. It was ticked to start with (I had manually cleared all the prefs files I could find before I loaded the new version). It came up with a -2175 (?) error message (sorry I didn’t write it down). I went back in, unticked it, and the message didn’t come back.
Sorry I couldn’t be anymore help than that.

The Jaiku channels are working fine on my end, let me know if you run into the error again…

Thanks once again for your help.

Great going brett - seems to be running without a hitch.

Hi Brett!
The version available for download still seems to have the problem. When I launch the one I just downloaded I get the same “can’t make a boolean” error.
I tried deleting the prefs files. No change to the behavior.

Use the beta directly above the normal download section. That error shouldn’t show up in the beta as there are no more boolean conversions. Current version number for the beta is 3.1b1, b2 will be out shortly with new features and bugfixes.
Let me know if for some reason you’re still getting the boolean error in 3.1b1.
Have your say
