I couldn’t find anything on a quicksilver plugin, do you have a link for that?
WikityWidget: Easiest Wiki Ever

I discovered it quite by accident. I was scrolling through Quicksilver plugins and found one for WicketyWidget. WTF? I followed a link and found what appeared to be an outdated page for a Tiger only widget. I took a chance and installed it anyway. In combination with Quicksilver, I’m absolutely loving it…
I’ve long been a fan of the “Append Text” trick with Quicksilver. Jotting quick notes and keeping track of them in various text files worked well with my system, but tended to be scattered and I often lost track of files or lost notes in-between attempts to re-organize thoughts. It was more or less replaced by Yojimbo and then iGTD and the ability to archive my notes there, but there was still a need for something somewhere between an apple Sticky Note and an Inbox item. A personal mini-wiki that sits in my dashboard fits the bill very nicely.
It allows for very simple formatting and is navigable by keyboard shortcuts. I can append text to any page of the wiki with Quicksilver. It automatically turns camel cased words into links to new pages, but also allows for double bracket formatting which allows for more elegant page titling.
Just a quick note for anyone else who’s been looking for a donationware solution. I honestly don’t know how active the developer is on this, but I can vouch that it works on Leopard just fine and the Quicksilver plugin is wonderful. I went ahead and made a donation, so I’ll see if I get a response :). If you need a great little note-taker, check it out here.

You should see it if you go to the plugins panel in the Quicksilver preferences. Just choose “All Plugins” and let it refresh. It’s called the WikitWidget Module.

Yeah, I tried that but something must be wrong with it. The plugins page is completely blank. Any ideas?

There’s a refresh button at the bottom of the panel, I usually have to hit that.

I like the idea of the widget but the lack of an save or export option keeps me from using it.
Have your say
