MoodBlast 2.49.6 (and a little blogging)

Note: This post is over a year old. You may want to check later in this blog to see if there is new information.

MoodBlast 2.49.6Alright, 2.49.6 is out without a lot of fanfare. New interface, new search and replace algorithms, etc. I’ve promised myself that I will blog about something besides MoodBlast before I completely lose the ability to do so…

On a personal note, my business (Circle Six Design) is billing three times more per month what it was at the beginning of this year. Which partially explains why I’m so stressed lately. I think the learning process behind creating MoodBlast is really what helps me escape. Ever get so stressed out that you can’t even sit through a 30 minute television show? I’ve lost all concentration for anything except work, MoodBlast and a certain amount of paying attention to my new puppy and my wife (not in that order).

A closeup of EmmaMy new puppy, since we’re getting personal, is a gorgeous Red Nose American Staffordshire Terrier named Emma. That’s a red pit bull, if you want to split hairs. At least I think she’s my new puppy, we usually foster for a while while we find them homes, but I kinda got stuck on this one…

Since I’m writing, I’ll wax on about MoodBlast for a minute. MoodBlast has been an interesting experience for two major reasons. First, it was a conversion of an Applescript into Objective-C, or at least a fusion of the two. Second, I don’t know Objective-C and have never made a Cocoa app before. So MoodBlast is a complete learning experience, which is what I thrive on. I’m currently working backwards and fixing all of the stuff I did because I don’t know what I’m doing. But the fact of the matter is that I’m learning at an unprecedented pace and that’s when I really enjoy life the most. I think that’s why I’m in web development in general. A constant demand for new learning experiences and an ability to soak up and understand new information… rapidly. I’m lost if I don’t have a problem to solve.

Okay, so this is a scattered post, but at least I’m writing again. I’ll cut it off here and save some juice for the next one. Enjoy the new MoodBlast and feel free to drop me bug reports (see last line of previous paragraph ;).

That is of interest. I may find myself converting my mile long embedded Applescript to straight Obj-C now ;). I’ve got a bout 30 calls from the Applescript to Obj-C and a few that go the other way, so this could be awesome.

Have your say
