Jott2iGTD 2.4 is ready for download, which should be especially good news for anyone who’s using an older version and didn’t make it into the beta testing round. It seems to be working for everybody and is revamped to work with the new Jott email format. Jott has become a source of frustration for me, though…
They have approached me on multiple occasions to say they are excited about interfacing with iGTD and provided me with limited APIs that really don’t help a desktop application. Then they go and release a desktop application that proves that they have a far more complete API that they’re not sharing. Being able to avoid the entire Mail step would simplify Jott2iGTD so much it’s sick. It could run as a background app and just pull Jotts right in without having to go through all of the extra parsing through terribly convoluted HTML emails to find what, 15 words out of 200 357 (I just counted one)? And setup would be so much simpler… it’s a dream, but I’ll keep emailing them until they give me a court order to stop. Update: Jott immediately responded to this post and we determined there was a breakdown in communication that has now been taken care of. I am once again a very happy user (and in no way being paid to say so).
Have your say
