Pownce API Coming Soon?

Note: This post is over a year old. You may want to check later in this blog to see if there is new information.

I was a little slow in noticing this, and it was posted nearly a month ago, but according to Shawn Allen, Pownce is still on track for a September release of their API. This would mean new (and better) clients… ones that can actually notify you of messages. And inclusion in MoodBlast, of course. Speaking of…

I’ve added a feature that lets you set a default chat string for @keywords in the new statuses panel. This string is only used if it’s there and if you don’t send a mood along with the keyword. It gives you the ability to set up a keyword like @home with a default string of “Home for the day” and when you send just “@home” with MoodBlast, your chat client(s) would be updated with the default string. This will show up in the next release. I’ve also lightened up the input field and darkened the text to make everything more readable. My current project is to add the ability to pull down a list of all of your Yappd/Twitter friends and watchers to select a name and send a direct message. I’ve got the Objective-C XML parser all written and I’m pulling in all of the names. I’ve just got to get around to sticking them in an array and populating a dropdown now, and a very cool new feature will be ready to roll.
