It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from them, but CulturedCode has released a new version of XyleScope and has plans to release a GTD-based ToDo manager called “Things”…
The new version of Xylescope boasts an enhanced CSS editing engine. In my opinion, it still can’t hold a handle to CSSEdit in that area. And it’s just caught up to Firebug in that realm of functionality. More importantly, it’s now Safari 3 and iPhone compatible.
The real reason I continue to keep Xylescope around is it’s very ingenious interface for drilling down through HTML and CSS hierarchies simultaneously and seeing where problems lie. I consider it to be an excellent secondary debugging tool. And it’s got Firebug beat for looks and interface by, say, one full trip around the globe.
This rumored ToDo manager sounds interesting. As we wait for OmniFocus and I grow more and more enamored with iGTD, it will be interesting to see what a company with great attention to detail and excellent interface design can pull off in that area.
Have your say
