Path Finder And Subversion

Note: This post is over a year old. You may want to check later in this blog to see if there is new information.

Subversion in Path FinderPath Finder, one of my favorite utilities for OS X, has just come out with version 4.7 and added experimental Subversion support, along with a few other very cool goodies…

The Subversion panel is accessible as a drawer and works well in the horizontal pane at the bottom of the main window. The support is pretty good, although it seems to be lacking the ability to check and commit individual files and doesn’t work on the current selection, but rather the current directory. Still very usable and extremely handy. And I may be mistaken, as I’ve only played with it for a few minutes now.

They’ve also updated the built in Terminal to the latest iTerm code which means tabbed terminals in the bottom drawer. You can also have a console, hex view or Terminal in several different panes now.

There’s a reworked Application launcher and quite a few bugfixes. If you’re not a Path Finder user, and are frustrated with the limitations of Finder, you might want to check it out. Leopard will have some Finder improvements, but this Path Finder upgrade has ensured compatibility with Leopard, so it’s still worth the money, in my opinion.
