Slidez: Quick and Easy Portfolios

Note: This post is over a year and a half old. You may want to check later in this blog to see if there is new information.

Slidez is a new tool that has me a little excited. You can sign up for a free account and then batch upload a bunch of photos to create a slideshow. You can customize where the thumbnails go, what font is used, background color, etc. But wait, here’s the cool part: it’s got an embed function for your website/blog and an xml feed. Have fun! Thanks for finding this Brett - I’d missed it on my LH Feed. It looks very slick . I was looking for something that could also add a soundtrack to a slideshow of images and then link from virb. You come across anything that might do that? I was thinking I might have to record the sound against a slideshow and then film the whole thing and put the video on virb?

Because VIRB doesn’t allow scripting, I think the best bet would be to use FotoMagico or iMovie to make the slideshow, and as you suggest, put a movie on VIRB.

SlideShow Pro, as far as I know, has a version now that pulls from Flickr as well, but I don’t think it does soundtracks. And I don’t think it embeds in VIRB, so I’m not sure why I’m bringing it up ;).

Thanks - I’ll let you know how it goes!
