I was trying Think myself a few days ago. I liked it and definitely enjoy having something between me and my unruly desktop, especially when I'm writing It's typically a mess despite my attempts at organization.

I noticed another little app yesterday, Isolator, which is similar to Think and Backdrop. It lives in your menu bar and can be brought to life with a short cut key. Might be worth trying out. See if it sticks. I haven't really settled on one method yet but it's nice to be able to try out different solutions to a common "problem."
