Feed Styler, Style your Wordpress Feeds
Note: This post is over a year and a half old. You may want to check later in this blog to see if there is new information.
A new Wordpress plugin is being unveiled tonight that I’m pretty excited about. It’s called Feed Styler and the release announcement can be found at Devlounge (Both links go live around 12AM EST 2/3/07). I participated in the beta testing and am currently running the plugin, so if you’re subscribing to the RSS feed, you’re already seeing what it can do.
It basically converts a simple CSS stylesheet into inline style tags in your various elements, which doesn’t affect the validity of your feed (certain styling seems to cause warnings, though). It allows you to float images, style links, highlight text, add borders and other simple styling in most RSS readers. Some RSS readers will strip out the styling, but in that case your readers are just getting what they would normally get. The screenshot shown here is from a post on this blog shown in Newsfire for OS X.
Ronald Huereca is the man behind the plugin, and he’s been great to work with on its development.
