I dig it.
A temporary reboot

Well, I rebooted. I really wanted a new look for November but haven’t had time yet to build my template from scratch so I based this one off of K2 from Binary Bonsai. It’s hand painted ;-). I stayed up ’til midnight last night with some watercolors, different papers, a video camera and a scanner. I actually have some great video and animations that I’m working with, but I have to be honest, I’m really not sold on this entire aesthetic. I’ve got all the code figured out to build a flash header that spills out once and then maintains subtle motion the rest of the time you’re on the site, and I’ll probably execute it just to prove I can. And then I’ll start from scratch and once again try to realize my dream of achieving the site that’s in my head somewhere.
I still have plans for a major revamp of the Circle Six Design site. In fact, it’s fairly high on my priority list right now, but I have several client sites that rank a lot higher. But that’s motivation to get them done as quickly as possible ;-). I’ll probably tweak this one on the blog for a while and see if I can make anything out of it that I like… but I doubt this is the look I’m going to go for on the business site.
I did make a decision to give up the static site and create a second blog for Circle Six. That blog will contain our portfolio and updates on our most recent work and events. This blog will be more pontification on design and geekitude. Which is pretty much what it always has been. I’m just relieving it of some cruft.
Well, back to work. I’m hoping to finish the new Urbane Animal commercial today!

Nicely done! I’m digging the thick menu, it’s pretty dope. The subtle contrast difference in the body is nice too. Interested to see where you take the design. Good luck!
