I made my trek to Minneapolis with one of our largest clients yesterday to Art Direct a photo shoot with photographer Jim Arndt. We shot 50 model shots and 6 laydown stacks in 12 hours. That’s a little insane, but we pulled it off. I handle the catalog layout and art direction, and on occasion Circle Six handles the additional laydown photography and catalog production. Not this time, though. The turnaround is too tight and we’re too busy. I hate it when that happens. Which is why I desperately want to hire a new graphic designer and have the option to take on more and larger jobs.
In other news, TextMate has added an automatic email obfuscation using ROT13 encoding. If you read the blog post, you’ll notice I was credited for two of my amateur pieces of work! Back to you, John.
We’re also closing in on the 9Rules submission date. I’d really like to make the cut, but I have no idea what will happen. I think there are going to be a record number of entries, so the competition should be pretty fierce…
You know those little Starbucks doubleshots® that cost over a buck for a 6.5 fl oz can? According to Men’s Health, that little can has 254 mg of caffeine. That’s insane. I might have to give them up if I ever want to sleep again.
There’s a great video from the Dove highlighted at Advertising/Design Goodness, showing the reality of beauty in the advertising industry. Reminds me of Adbusters, only in video form.
Well, that’s the news for now. Tune in again at 10 for the latest breaking stories.
