The net must be napping.

Note: This post is over 2 years old. You may want to check later in this blog to see if there is new information.

I’m bored. The most interesting news out of 150 stories on my feed reader in the last hour was about Microsoft’s new feed reader. Slightly ironic, but not enough to be funny. My hits are lower than they’ve ever been, even my RSS stats are low. There’s just not much happening on the net. And it’s strange to me, but about 80% of my traffic lately has been coming from Google, whereas it used to primarily come from Technorati and Digg. Strange things are afoot. Meanwhile, I’m either looking in the wrong places for interesting news, or the net is just having a really slow weekend.

I’m in the process of redesigning the main site right now, so it’s the most boring site in the world for the time being. I like to think of it as beautiful in its simplicity, but it’s really just boring. Bear with me. You’ll note that I didn’t link to it when I mentioned it, primarily because I don’t want you to look at it. I know that saying that will make you look at it, but don’t. Seriously.

I’m working on a tutorial on writing wordpress plugins, but I’m realizing how much I don’t know. I had to search for answers on every step of writing c6contact and still have many questions. I dissected 15 different plugins and found more questions than answers. All of the tutorials I found were basic “Hello World” tutorials that helped me start off, but didn’t get me very far. I do fine with modifying code, but getting the hooks right and especially making database calls is still a little mysterious. The more I learn, though, the more I’ll share. I think a more complete tutorial would be a nice contribution to the community.

Well, I’m off to work on some projects I’ve procrastinated on as long as I can. Check the del.icio.us links at the bottom of the page for my latest and greatest finds on the net. And have a good weekend, away from your computer, apparently.

I look forward to your tutorial! I’ve hunted high and low for any kind of information on them myself, and come up pretty much empty handed. I’d love to be able to contribute to the Wordpress community from whom I’ve gotten so much.
