Senility and the Razr. And your regex dosage.

I live in a small town. It took a while, but the day my local wireless company finally got the RAZR in, I snatched one up and promised myself I would take good care of it. I bought a plastic shell (I’ve been through three shells now) and screen protectors for it. It’s in great condition after 4 months. Problem is, I forget it at home about twice a week and have to make my wife drive it over to me. It’s getting to be a problem. I need those things that hold your mittens to your coat, but for RAZRs. That would probably make it inconvenient to charge, though. Maybe a long tether line.
And just to make this post extra geeky, I’ve been teaching myself regular expressions lately. Here’s my discovery for the day: ((mailto\:|(news|(ht|f)tp(s?))\://){1}\S+). It will match uri’s of type mailto, news, http, https, ftp and ftps. I’ve found it very handy for pasting text from emails and then running search and replaces to turn http://foo.bars into href tags. So, on the off chance that it actually helps anybody else out, have fun with it.
