I have been unable to get the attention of Christine Davis to get any kind of authorization to release my mod, but I honestly think that some people might find it useful or be able to build off the idea. So I’m releasing what I’ve got in the hopes that I won’t face serious legal action or get in trouble with the WordPress community. Maybe I’ll get flowers instead. You never know with these things…
The AutoTag mod adds a button that does a fuzzy comparison of the text in your post to your current database of tags and returns suggestions. It also compares to the synonym list and returns their related tags. As a final check it looks for words in your post that repeat multiple times and returns them in the order of highest repetition. It places a button next to the Tagyu and Yahoo suggest buttons and functions through the same AJAX returns.
The mod also contains a fix for the Tagyu and Yahoo tag suggest functions to improve their compatibility with gecko based browsers. If you have problems with no response in Firefox or Safari, this will help. There is also a bug fix for the delete tag function in the control panel.
This mod will cause no changes to your database, but will overwrite files in your plugin directory. Therefore backups of your entire UTW directory should be made before installing. I take no responsibility for any damage caused by this mod. Not that it would, I’m just saying is all…
