So we have a new photo gallery. It’s based on Zen Photo and integrated with some help from the Zen Photo support forums. It’s pretty wicked. The photo on the left is randomly pulled from the gallery every time the page is loaded ;-). As I mentioned in the sidebar, it’s the greatest gallery software I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried a ton of them. I always have clients who want galleries. So I’ve got it integrated with Wordpress, now I just have to figure out Joomla and Drupal and we’ll be rockin’ and rollin’. If they add support for Gallery Remote or something similar it will be the best gallery in the whole world. I can even drop a thumbnail of any image from the gallery into a post (like I did in this one) with a pop-up menu to select from any album.
On another topic… my mystery birthday present was revealed. Randy was kind enough to provide me with some pure tobacco pleasure, enough to keep me entertained until Christmas. He doesn’t like to admit it, but he’s got a big heart. Thanks, man.
Addendum: After 2 hours of tweaking, the photo gallery still has some amazingly interesting (read: frustrating) quirks in Explorer 6. I’m afraid to test in 5.5, but it works in 7. It works in newer versions of Netscape, Opera, Safari and Firefox. Quirks in Mozilla. In fact, Moz is worse than IE. I might have to rewrite the theme from scratch to see what’s up. Xylescope keeps revealing things that shouldn’t be… I should note here that it’s not Zen Photo that’s causing the problems, but the K2 theme that I’ve got running on it to integrate it with this blog. But as an addendum to my addendum… I think I’ve got the bugs out for IE 6 now. Phew.
